Are you planning on downsizing and buying a new home? Here are our suggestions on Where to Move When Downsizing
A lot of times, people want to downsize – well, in theory anyway. But it’s tough to conceptualize and decide what size of home will suit their needs.
We specialize in helping baby boomers and above downsize out of their current home and right-size into their new home.
You want to be sure not to over-downsize, so ask yourself a few questions when beginning this process. Do you entertain a lot? If so, you will probably need a space that will accommodate the types of functions that you host. If you are looking at condominiums, several condos do have spacious community rooms that are available to the owners.
Do you host out-of-town guests frequently? You’ll probably want to have a spare room or a pull-out sofa in a den in order to be able to continue hosting your out-of-town family and friends. Do you care for grandkids or do they spend the night? Maybe you’ll want a dedicated room so that they can store their toys and all of their personal items, and then you can just close the doors and restore order to the rest of the home. Finding the next perfect home is a very personalized process. Steve and I have a lot of experience. We have the skills, the knowledge, and the patience, and we can help you analyze and give you ideas of what to think about when considering downsizing.
There are lots of housing options out there: smaller single-level homes, condominiums, and of course dedicated 55-and-older communities.
