Seattle Animal Shelter Appointment-based Adoption System is HERE!

Seattle Animal Shelter’s counters are closed, but their adoptions are not! To keep the community safe and healthy, and to ensure our furry friends can still find their forever homes, animal adoptions are now temporarily available through a new appointment-based system.

This will enable the shelter to coordinate visits so that social distancing guidelines are strictly followed. This in accordance with the latest health recommendations and the Governor’s temporary Stay Home, Stay Safe guidance for essential businesses, which includes the shelter.

All you need to do is, scroll available animals on the website:

seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt and submit your application.

Applications available at seattle.gov/animalshelter/forms.htm Email it to the Seattle Animal Shelter Foster Program at adoptionreview@gmail.com

Upon review, the shelter will contact you regarding an appointment.

Find your forever animal today!

Note* Many pets will receive numerous applications, and the Seattle Animal Shelter asks for your patience during the process of finding the very best match.

Meet Kevin!

Kevin is a great companion dog and quickly bonds with people. Kevin is very affectionate, a good cuddler, and loves relaxing with his people. He enjoys playing with his toys and will bring them over to entice play; he particularly likes chasing balls. Kevin is a smart dog and good listener. He is food motivated and is also driven by praise and affection. He’s very curious when outdoors but has a fear of bikes! Kevin has been practicing social distancing but as far as we can tell, he’s good with all humans and gets excited to greet them. Because he can be vocal he’d do best in a single family home. Kevin is a man of routine and likes anticipating what is happening next in the day. He is house trained and crate trained and enjoys spending time there. Kevin is looking for a forever home with prior dog experience and would do well with teens and adults.

Meet Nicki!

Nicki is a very loving big boy. While he is not a lap cat he is very affectionate. He likes cuddling with a passion for belly rugs and he will notify you clearly following you around or meowing. He is also very playful with his feather toys and takes the game very seriously. On the other hand, he also needs some quiet time and will be independent for a good part of the day. He doesn’t behave as a 14-year-old dude as he is very healthy and dynamic. He has been waiting very patiently for a gentle family for more than a year and is ready for his humans to bring him back to his forever home to share their love and fun with him too.

Meet Reeses!

Reeses is a super handsome young Havana boy rabbit. He is very curious, loves to eat hay, hop and jump around for his frequent exercises. He’s is a little shy for attention- sitting still for just a few seconds to get his pets and head rubs!
Reeses is looking for his forever home!
He’s available for adoption but he is currently being adored in foster care.

Meet Buster!

Meet Buster! He is a very sweet 2-year-old guy that loves to run around for exercise, eat lots of hay, and week-a-week for his salad! Buster is available for adoption but he is being adored in foster care!

Meet Rocco!

Rocco is a retired gentleman dog of a certain age, looking for a posh residence in which to spend his golden years. He’s a generally calm and relaxed fellow. He likes being well groomed and is especially proud of his batwing-like ears. He’s quite open to some schooling, one is never too old to learn new things! Here are his needs – a moderately active household with some prior dog experience. Teenaged and adult humans, possibly another compatible dog, and cats are ok if supervised.
