Oh my goodness, do you realize that the holidays are just around the corner? I’m not trying to scare you, but it may be time to start thinking about buying some gifts. But what about buying or selling a home. I’ve been selling real estate for over 17 years here in Seattle and all over the Greater Puget Sound region and this can be a really nerve-wracking time to be thinking about selling. And I totally get it. I get consumed by the holidays as well, and typically during this time of year, I’ve always told people that it tends to slow down and that if they have the ability to wait until after the holidays, that might be a better option.

But, as we all know, this year has definitely not been normal. And for the first time that I can remember, my advice if you were to ask me if selling right now is a good time, I would most definitely say yes. Here’s why, the market is so very hot right now. We are seeing multiple offers on many properties, buyers are out in full force and interest rates are still incredibly low. This is, of course, something that we can see and measure.

But what we can’t see and what we can’t measure is what is going to happen to the housing market. There are so many unknowns. We not only can’t predict what’s going to happen from one month to the next, we can barely foresee what’s going to happen from one week to the next. So if you are thinking about selling, do not let the holidays get in your way. You’ll still have lots of buyers looking at your home. And remember, the holiday season will be here in a blink of an eye.
