Happy March! Our “Pet of the Month” series showcases an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter each month. This month we are proud to present: Prince! Check out our video about him on Facebook.
Prince is a royal, adorable little guy who is full of spunk, and prances happily along on leash even though he can’t see where he’s going – he’s blind. But that doesn’t stop him from much of anything. He considers himself a normal everyday dog. Prince’s nose works exceptionally well. He can follow the scent of a tasty dog treat until he can pop it in his mouth.
This pup gets along with other dogs (who can respect his small size) and cats too. Kids age six and up would be great. If you’ve never had a dog of your very own before, Prince would be a great choice for your first. A moderately active to calm/quiet household would be perfect.
Prince was very polite when we met with him and seemed to enjoy getting attention. He’s certainly lovable!
Right now the shelter (and foster care) has 12 dogs, 20 cats, 2 Guinea pigs, 4 rabbits, 1 parakeet, and 1 snake available for adoption. If you are interested in adding a new member to the family, check out Seattle Animal Shelter first! All of their currently available pets are on their website at seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt
If you’re not looking for a new pet, but do want to help the shelter in 2020, visit seattleanimalshelterfoundation.org/how-to-help/ to learn all the ways you can contribute. They can always use the extra help!
Cheers

Adoptable Pets at the Seattle Animal Shelter
You’re in luck! The perfect pet is at the shelter!
Meet Milo!
Milo is a super handsome, butterscotch-colored guinea pig who loves hanging out with his best buddy Bart, munching on hay and running through their big plastic tubes! Milo is a bit shy but curious and friendly. Once he gets to know you, he will gladly eat his favorite fresh food – bell peppers, endive, baby chard, and parsley – from your hands. He loves gentle attention and will greet you with cute sounds when he is hungry or wants a treat.. Milo and Bart are a bonded pair and they will be adopted together. Milo & Bart are available for adoption but they are currently being adored in foster care.
Meet Sassy!
Sassy is a sweet, senior lady seeking a mature, forever home where she can be your one and only 4 legged family member. Sassy has stage 2 kidney disease, but does not let it slow her down. She is playful and likes to chase string toys. She is also affectionate, gives head butts for attention and loves pets around her head and neck. Sassy has a gentle meow and soft purr. Won’t you open your heart to this sweet and sassy girl? You’ll be glad you did.
Meet Bucket!
Bucket is a whole bucket of love and energy! This handsome boy is athletic and exuberant, and would love to be your jogging partner. He knows how to ‘sit’ and is already house trained. Bucket will thrive in a dog experienced, adult only home. Good with some other dogs, he does need a cat-free household. Come and learn more about him today at the shelter!
Meet Maggie!
Maggie has a stunning face with a Santa beard and unique blue/gold eyes. She is a gentle and affectionate girl with a lovely purr. Her long fur needs regular brushing to keep it tangle-free, and Maggie is a very willing participant. She has always lived indoors and will benefit from a moderately active forever home that will help her stick to a sensible weight-loss plan. Maggie loves people but wants to be your one and only kitty. She will make a sweet and mellow companion.
Meet Kaa!
Kaa is an amazing Ball Python and he is looking for a great new forever home. Kaa is a bit shy and would do well with some more socializing, he will need some patience and time to get him to be the wonderful ball python that he is. Because of his special needs, he will have to be adopted by an experienced snake-friendly family!
