Food Banks Need Our Help — Join This Year’s Brenner Hill Food Drive!
Kick Off 2025 with Gratitude and Generosity: Join Our Food Drive!
Benefitting Local Food Banks — And we do the driving! Donations to be picked up Saturday, January 4th.
The shelves in food banks in our area are running dangerously low and they need our help! This unprecedented shortage has been caused by a surge in demand due to economic challenges and rising living costs, leaving many families struggling to make ends meet. As the holiday season approaches, it’s more important than ever to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious meals and the comfort of knowing where their next meal will come from.
Food banks play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable community members by providing essential food and supplies. Without adequate donations, they are unable to meet the needs of countless individuals and families who rely on them for sustenance.
You can make a difference by donating non-perishable food items, volunteering your time, or contributing financially to help replenish their stock and support their vital mission. Every small action contributes to a larger impact, and together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes hungry this season. Let’s rally around our local food banks and show our neighbors the strength of our community spirit and generosity.
To make it easy for everyone to participate, we’re organizing a Food Drive and handling all the logistics for you!
Here’s how it works:
- Pack a bag with shelf-stable food or baby supplies.
- Email Sandra at sbrenner@windermere.com with the subject line: Food Drive.
- Set your bag out for pickup on Saturday, January 4th, and we’ll take care of delivering it to the Food Bank!
Pickup areas include North Seattle, Shoreline, Edmonds and Brier. If you’re outside these areas, we encourage you to consider making a monetary donation to the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank or the North Helpline, which supports the Bitter Lake and Lake City Food Banks.
What to Include in Your Donation Bag:
- Canned Goods: Fruit, chili, stews, soups, tuna, chicken, and beans (pop-top cans preferred!).
- Pantry Staples: Peanut butter, multigrain cereals, and tomato/pasta sauce.
- Baby Supplies: Diapers (especially infant sizes), formula, and baby wipes.
- Hygiene Products & Pet Food: Always appreciated!
Please avoid: medicines, open products, or home-canned goods.
Want to make a bigger impact? Visit northhelpline.org to sign up for monthly giving or make a onetime monetary donation. Your support helps provide food and housing for vulnerable families in our community.
Thank you for helping us kick off 2025 with kindness and generosity! Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
